Poem from Session #1

We are human teachers,
Not robots
To be exact
Perpetual language learners….
Afraid the native mother tongue Will slip from our mouths
Into the hands of another

Shy little human
Child
Afraid to express ourselves

Which tongue will I use today
To tell the world
I am me

We are human teachers
Not robots
Just so you know

Powerless, Powerful
Masters of a room that
Is not our own

Conductors of an orchestra
Performing for the grande audience
